Wavelet q-Fisher information Measure for signal analysis

Wavelet q-Fisher information was recently shown to be a suitable tool for scaling signal analysis in the article http://www.mdpi.com/1099-4300/14/8/1478. Wavelet q-Fisher information enhances the so-called wavelet Fisher information measure and generalizes it by incorporating a parameter q. Parameter q not only can adjust and refine the analysis, but also helps in associating to wavelet q-Fisher information potential applications for the analysis of scaling signals. Wavelet q-Fisher information can analyze EEG signals in order to better understand the characteristics and behaviour of the human brain. This technique can also be used to analyze ECG signals and in this context propose potential applications to treat in a suitable way heart-related diseases. There is much to do in both situations, but we believe that by the application of these tools significant improvements can be gained. CACICC Research group expects to apply and study these phenomena in the near future in conjuntion with brain graphs. For more information on the theoretical findings and expressions associated to wavelet q-Fisher information please refer to the journal article by CACICC members in Entropy http://www.mdpi.com/1099-4300/14/8/1478. CORE-2012 is receiving Submissions

CORE-2012, a medium level computing conference will be held at Mexico City in November 28-30 at the Center for Computing Research (CIC-IPN). The Conference provides a forum for the interexchange of ideas in the areas of Computing, Signal Processing, Control Theory among others. Submissions are received from now and until August 19th. For more information on this conference and the areas on which potential papers are received please visit the following page http://www.cic.ipn.mx/sitioCIC/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=421&Itemid=425 CACICC Research group papers started on this conference and we as a group recommend this conference to young researchers planning to exchange ideas with students within Mexico.

Jitter and Packet Loss Rate in VoIP Can Also be Modeled by Self-Similar Network Traffic

In a recent journal paper, CACICC members, have recently found that VoIP QoS Parameters, jitter (Defined as the packet delay variation) and packet loss rate follow or can be modeled by self-similar fractal stochastic signals. This finding opens new possibilities in the understanding of this type of traffic and also in the design of novel algorithms such as buffers and codecs that not only take into account this behaviour but also adapt to possible changes associated to this signals. For more information on this subject please visit  the link http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0895717711007709, where you can further read about these interesting topics and if you dont have acess please request a preprint of this article. We congratulate the results of CACICCs members and also the recent collaborations that  undoubtedly help to increase to the "en consolidación" status of the research group.

CUPO: Limitado a 15 personas.

Requisitos:

1.-  Estudiantes del segundo ciclo en adelante
2.-  Laptop

Inscripciones:

jramirez@ucaribe.edu.mx y lrizo@ucaribe.edu.mx

Nota: Se seleccionará a los estudiantes que cumplan con los requisitos y se les enviará un correo de confirmación junto con los detalles del lugar donde se impartirá el curso. Se les entregará diplomas a los estudiantes que tomen el curso.
